Given the region’s extensive waterways, it should be no surprise that boats and boating are closely tied to the history and intrigue of the 1000 Islands. Located on the U.S. side of the St. Lawrence River, in Clayton, NY, the Antique Boat Museum hosts the largest collection of antique and classic boats in all of North America. You’ll find 10 buildings with more than 50,000 square feet of exhibits, programs, and collections, including wooden boats, speedboats, rowing skiffs, and classes on everything nautical. Open seasonally, the museum’s annual summertime events include an antique boat show and auction and a vintage Race Boat Regatta.
